Cosmetic Dentistry

Cosmetic Dentistry is an area of dentistry that helps to create a more aesthetically pleasing smile. Cosmetic dentists can whiten teeth, replace missing teeth, and repair chipped teeth through a variety of cosmetic dentistry options, including tooth bleaching, porcelain veneers, dental implants, bonding, dental crowns, and bridges.

PORCELAIN VENEERS: are delicate covers that are placed over the front of the teeth in order to restore their shape and improve their color. They are similar to artificial nails that are placed over natural nails. They may be made of plastic or porcelain. When suitable, veneers provide a conservative way to improve the function and appearance of teeth. Unlike a crown, veneers require that only the front surface of the tooth be reduced in size.

Reasons for porcelain veneers:

  • Cosmetically, to create a uniform, white, beautiful smile.
  • Crooked teeth.
  • Misshapen teeth.
  • Severely discolored or stained teeth.
  • Teeth that are too small or large.
  • Unwanted or uneven spaces.
  • Worn or chipped teeth.

LUMINEERS is the most significant advancement in 9,000 years of dentistry.

Invisalign

is a new orthodontic treatment system that works to straighten teeth through the use of a series of clear plastic molds (aligners). Invisalign® "invisible" braces eliminate the metallic smile that is characteristic of traditional orthodontic braces.

What are the benefits of using Invisalign®?

  • Invisible, so no one can tell you're straightening your teeth. So now you can smile more during treatment as well as after.
  • Removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are no problem.
  • Comfortable, because it has no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. And no metal and wires usually means you spend less time in your dentist's office getting adjustments.

Dental Implants

What are Dental Implants?

Replicating the natural function and appearance of your lost teeth can be very difficult to accomplish. Historically, dentures or bridge restorations would be used as replacements, but with limited results. Dental implants, however, are natural-looking replacements for missing teeth that also provide the same function as your natural tooth root.

Each implant is placed into a socket carefully drilled at the precise location of the intended tooth. Often the implant can be placed at the same time as the tooth is removed.

The main aim during installation of any implant is to achieve immediate close contact with the surrounding bone. This creates an initial stability, which over time is steadily enhanced by further growth of bone into the microscopic roughness on the implant surface.

In order to support replacement teeth, dental implants normally have some form of internal screw thread or post space that allows a variety of components to be fitted.

Once fitted, these components provide the foundation for long-term support of crowns, bridges or dentures.
